Donald B. Levy, MD, Medical Director, Osher Clinical Center for Integrative Medicine at BWH, defines integrative medicine as a philosophy of healing that includes a preference to use non-invasive therapies to enhance the body’s ability to heal.

Integrative medicine focuses on lifestyle changes such as diet, nutrition, and stress management to help patients manage their health. Additionally, integrative medicine uses treatment techniques such as acupuncture, chiropractic care and massage.
